The British International School, Cairo is an academically selective, co-educational day school for pupils aged 3-18 years. The school has over 50 nationalities and is proud of its reputation as the most academic school in Egypt, amongst the other British curriculum schools. BISC recruits its teachers from the best of the UK independent and maintained sector schools and a large part of the success of the school has been due to the appointment and retention of first class staff.

In common with the vast majority of schools in the UK and overseas, BISC advertises its posts in the 'Times Educational Supplement' (TES) published weekly in paper form in the UK and online www.tesjobs.co.uk . The ideal candidates for any given post should possess the following:

  • Strong academic background. UK degrees preferred: higher degrees desired.
  • UK teaching qualification and up-to-date CRB checks
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development
  • Teaching experience in good independent / UK maintained schools and/or COBIS schools.
  • Commitment to extra curricular education and the wide variety of trips offered to pupils in the School.
